Ace, can I begin the Billboard Year-End #1s rate?

I'm curious -- what's a good number of participants for a singles rate of an artist that's not overly popular on ATRL (so excluding Britney, Madonna, etc rates)?
What's the average number of participants across all rates?

Could I do a female blockbuster albums rate? With Jagged Little Pill, Come On Over, Come Away With Me, and 21?

I'd recommend that you'd hold off on finishing the votes until the server becomes stronger. It's hard for anything to get done now.

Yeah, I'm going to wait a bit to reveal results. Anyone who submits from now till when I start the countdown will certainly be included.
I am genuinely interested in the answers to the two questions I asked -- any idea?

Mine have had 13, 19, 41 and 16, respectively (including myself). My rates run toward the niche end of things, though, and usually require some promo to get out the vote.
On the other hand, the biggest rates I know of, such as the Britney singles rate, have had over 100 participants. So it really varies.

I had 38 full votes for Radiohead including mine. But mine was open for voting about 2 weeks longer than your ABBA and I was obsessive with promo. So ~30 is pretty good.

Excuse me but are there any Beyoncι, Britney or Gaga discography rates?
If not, can I do one of them even though I am a flop around here and nobody knows me.

If I can give a bit of advice, why don't you start with a different kind of rate? Hosting one of these can be rather difficult and time-consuming to coordinate, so it's better to start smaller on your first one. After you've gotten the hang of it, you can decide if you still want to do a discography rate, which has a lot more songs and, often, a lot more participants.
(I only suggest this because a couple of the discography rates have floundered in the past. But if you're really committed to it, I think all three of those are available.)

Yeah I get your point, it's just that the discography rates are a lot more fun than the other ones tbh. But maybe I should just wait a bit.

Have they? The server, at least for me, has only been bad for the past two days. Today it's fine.

Is there ever going to be a male #1s rate for the 2000's decade. I think it'd be fun/messy.

Oooh, that's a great idea!
If you don't want to host it, I'd totally be up for doing it.

Sounds good.
You could include #1s that featured male guest artists, too.
