That's because so many people in mainland believed that he used his strong power to take all the IMAX 3D screens away for 1942. They thought it was unfair to Ang Lee. So they even organized a big activity to against Feng and his movies. (On Weibo)
But actually, he didn't do that. Bad luck for him hah.
TBH, 1942 is also great although it is very dark and heavy. It is not the best movie for people to watch during the new year season. People want to have something funny to watch. (Like the movie called Lost in Thailand "泰囧" which took one billion two hundred million RMB away from mainland. It has become the best selling movie in China on history.The investment of this movie is only thirty million RMB. Just INCREDIBLE.
