To put it in simple terms - she picks on the smaller ones to look like the top dog
This seems to be a repeated theme within this thread topic. It's fascinating. It implies that Lady Gaga did a form of bullying when replying to Kelly Osbourne, who, again, never criticized Lady Gaga, only the actions of her fans. Lady Gaga publicly criticized Osbourne's tame statements, but, at this point in her career, Gaga knows that after she criticizes someone publicly, her "little monsters" are, without a doubt, going to trash that celebrity. One could argue that Lady Gaga did indeed bully Kelly Osbourne because she is "weaker" than Madonna.
So by criticizing Kelly Osbourne, you're implying that Lady Gaga doesn't
respect her? Is one only to criticize those that he or she does not respect?
...Vin
Nitpicking.
Gaga clearly respects Madonna, one of her biggest influences, and a huge mogul in the music industry. Granted she wasn't gonna start making catty remarks and go against her directly (See Nicki x Mariah, and whom everyone sided with). The backfire would be insane.
Whether she respects Kelly or not is irrelevant, the letter was still tame and and respectful enough (unlike her mother's letter).
Kelly came against her fans. Gaga doesn't like when people mess with her fans.
Yes, but that's exactly it -- Kelly criticized Gaga's fans, NOT Lady Gaga personally.
But Lady Gaga, on the other hand, attacked, arguably bullied, Kelly Osbourne
on a personal level, for something Kelly only said about her fans.
With the right amount of assertion, Madonna likes it when you stand up against.
Maybe a public battle will pay off for GaGa — and finally win over Madonna's respect.
She always has been, and I feel it is because she knows she will never be able to live up to the standards that madonna has for herself, and of what society expects from someone who wants to be like madonna

Maybe it WON'T.
I absolutely agree. I believe it's a gamble worth taking. If you can "stand up" to Kelly Osbourne,
then "stand up" to Madonna. It may pay off -- Madonna may like you. And maybe it won't, but
at least you had the backbone to do it, instead of going after someone "weaker" like Kelly.

You haven't given me any reason to stay on-topic. It's more than clear that your intentions is not to attempt to reach the truth as close as possible but instead to continually make Gaga to look bad. No point can be brought up in her defense without you trying to spin it around because you don't care about the facts as you have showed by stating that Kelly never attacked Gaga personally when their are videos and interviews of her calling Gaga a butter face and fat. Yet you choose to ignore those facts. You do nothing but twist the points of those that defend her and agree with those that bash her in this thread. If that isn't transparency then I don't know what is.
The situation is quite simple. If you're going to criticize one of your
detractors, then why not criticize your main detractor: Madonna.

Again, I kindly repeat, this post is not on topic with the thread discussion. It will be

hand, I would be more than happy to oblige in further discussion with you.
Gaga isn't stupid. She makes some mistakes, but generally she knows what she is doing. Engaging in a public feud with Madonna would not be a good move. Nobody leaves a fight unscathed, and the moment you enter the ring you risk losing. Not to mention, people side with whoever has the perceived upper hand. If Gaga actively feuded with a legend, no matter what was said, she wouldn't win. In the same way that Kelly vs Gaga is a done deal because Gaga is an A List icon and Kelly is just a reality show celebrity.
As it is, Gaga avoided saying anything directly so it became very one sided. That is where things got interesting. Anyone who doesn't have their head up their ass saw a shift in opinion from Gaga being the out-right "bad guy" to Madonna looking bad as she continued to drag Gaga with seemingly no retaliation.
A lot of folk on here crave feuds, dragging and shade...but often fail to appreciate that not retaliating usually gives you the upper hand. If the opposition carries on, they end up hanging themselves on their own negativity and pettiness.
Putting her massive success aside, Madonna is longer in the industry so she's more powerful simply by knowing more influential people. One false step and Gaga is ruined
That's why it's easier to talk back to the less successful acts and reality TV stars.
Also, she probably knows that she's the one that screwed up in the BTW/EY situation, so it's a common courtesy to stay silent. That's not the issue in the two other situations.
She commented to Kelly because Kelly's mom asked GaGa's manager to do something about the fact that GaGa's fans bullied Kelly. That she didn't handle it the best way is something else.
