Interesting. But which one, in your opinion, is Lady Gaga more concerned with:
The fact that she "respects Madonna too much" to criticize her in any way,
or the fact that if she does criticize her, the consequences could be dire.
...Vin
Both.
It's a "roll-of-the-dice" situation when you're a newbie up against a legend.
Yes, the woman who goes against her security's orders and runs into a group of stranger fans is afraid of Madonna.
Yes, the woman who slips away from her security so she can ride her bike down the streets is afraid of Madonna.
Yes, the woman who wore a dress made of meat knowing full well how people would react is afraid of Madonna.
The BS between the two is manufactured. They are both part of it, with Gaga coming out looking like the victor for not replying to her for a reason. Gaga knows staying tight lipped makes her look like the victor while Madonna comes off immature.
This "respect" excuse is invalid. You can disagree with or criticize someone you respect.
But I'll humour the flawed concept. It's safe to say that Lady Gaga "no longer
respects" Perez Hilton. Why hasn't she directed her thoughts toward him?
He's said far worse things than Kelly Osbourne could ever think of.
Lady Gaga is the epitome of what I would call a "weak bitch" - not trying to be flambait, it's just the truth.
She uses her entourage of Tara Savelo and DJ White Shadow to throw digs at Madonna. Yet, she is confident enough to be direct with Kelly. Why, you may ask? Because Lady Gaga will only pick on people that are weaker than her. Kelly is not on the same level of star power as Gaga, so Gaga would never hesitate. Yet, with Madonna her mindset is not the same. Madonna is a legend, and Gaga knows very well that she would receive backlash had she messed with her upfront. So, that's why she deals her insecurities in a way, by using her irrelevant make-up artist and producer to do the deeds.
So, Tara and DJWS can't simply be humans going a bit out of line in defending their friend? I'm sorry, I just doubt she'd have her friends talk **** about someone for her.

If Madonna's good friends were talking straightout crap about somebody and Madonna said nothing to disown herself from it I WOULD feel she is doing the same thing Gaga is doing. That thing is getting her digs in through her friends.
This makes me re-evaluate my answer. I think she is intimidated - to do what she did to Kelly - by people who are known to scalp a bleep then back up and do it again. I also think part of it is she knows she (Gaga) overstepped there and she's (Madonna) one of her biggest influences.
Well, you don't talk down to people you respect. It would be dumb to make the issue bigger than Madonna already made it.

They're two adults and what they tweet are their own views/reactions, not Gaga's. As simple as that.
I agree with some of the things said in this thread.
I feel she just respects Madonna enough to not say anything. She knows her place and it would be crazy to speak up for herself. It would be nice if she could, but I just don't think there would be any benefit for her. So in a sense, I guess you could say she's "afraid".
To put it in simple terms - she picks on the smaller ones to look like the top dog, but she'll never be the top bitch, fair and square.
She knows that if she even rubbed a finger on Madonna's skin the entire celebrity world would be turned against her and the "copying Madonna" thing would be perpetualized to such an extent that your average Nike-wearing straight boy would know about it.

Oh please. She knows very well what comments her people are making. Even if she doesn't blatantly tell them what to say, she is completely aware of what they are doing. Gaga is very a clever woman. Don't underestimate her intelligence.
But it's rightfully so — Madonna is one of her idols that she respects.
Much like how Madonna never went after Michael when he bashed her endlessly.
Through it all, Madonna still had love and respect for the man, much like GaGa loves Madonna regardless.
Wow, did you just post something that I can finally agree with? That's a first. You aren't that mean after all.
