(hopefully this is the right place to ask this)

So I downloaded an update for windows 7/security essentials the other day. Since then I have not been able to view ANY imaged uploaded to Tumblr. Doesn't matter whether its on the site itself or hotlinked elsewhere. So Tumblr is useless and a good 1/3 of the images/gifs on this site show up as blank.

It was kind of the tip of the iceberg so last night I did a full windows reinstall. Everything was peachy until I updated/installed security essentials & windows 7 and now I have the same problem again.

I tried uninstalling MSE with no effect. Also turned OFF firewall completely and no change.

Any advice?

I've always hated Windows Updates. Sometimes they do more harm than good and I know I'm supposed to be installing the updates but f*ck that my computer is fine.

And this problem you have is bizarre I don't have any idea...

Yeah its weird.

Going to give it a few days to work itself out them I may just upgrade to windows 8 or something to see if that works.

Yeah I assume its the update. It just blows my mind that I have the SAME problem after a full system reset and reinstall. Yet it seems I am the only one with the problem

I may do another full reinstall tonight and just not download any security or updates lol.

I've had this problem but it seemingly went away now.

So maybe just try to wait it out?

I don't have that problem. Reinstalling your OS is a rather drastic measure for it, have you thought the problem might be with the browser you're using? Make sure you're using the latest version, and try clearing the cache to see if it will solve the problem. You can also perform a System Restore if nothing changes.

EDIT: Open Tumblr on several browsers to confirm it's the system that's messed up.

Yes it is the same across all browsers. IE/Chrome/FF

(I didn't do a reinstall over just that issue. Had others as well....they were fixed. This one was not)

My PC simply does not load anything from http://25.media.tumblr.com/
