With the dying album sales, becoming a single artist when you're the only solo female survivor of the late 90s pop phenomenon is a good trade. And let's be honest, what people remember the most about popstars are hit singles and signature songs, the rest is optional (unless you're in the top 10 biggest selling female singers of all time). It's a sh*tty position for these girls but it's how this disgusting industry works.
Their last two albums had very similar sales, Beyonce a little bit more, but Britney had way more radio success to make up for that. Britney COULD do the amount of promo Beyonce does and book all those huge deals, but she simply doesnt *want* to. Just like Beyonce could have pulled a 15mil deal to do 3 months of sitting in a chair twice a week. Britney manages to win social media type things compared to beyonce, and Rolling Stone did name Britney's album one of the top albums music is looking forward to in 2013. (The only pop act other than lady gaga, which britney charted 2 marks higher than)
Either way theyre both very successful people for being about the same amount of time in their career. Well over a decade. Both are super rich, super famous, super huge fan groups. Comparing them is dumb. Both deserve mega props

I feel sorry for the Britney stans when they need to rely on Will.I.Am's single and the X-Factor (beated by The Voice) to claim her relevancy against Beyoncé who is just warming up to start an era performing at the Superbowl at this stage of her career...
Britney is relevant and she will always be... but not as much as Beyoncé right now...
Britney, because Beyoncé hasn't done anything big for a while. She's about to enter a new era though with major promo so all eyes will probably be on her for a lot of this year, then Britney will probably release and be the more relevant one again.
I think it just depends on who has music out and is doing big things at the time.
Exactly. I don't know why Britney stans are acting brand new. Especially this week. Her GQ cover is probably one of the most talked about things. But as you know, this is ATRL where the performance of singles determine your "relevancy"

Both girls are looking to have legacies down the road(not just yet). Britney will garner attention just because. Beyonce works hard and is very ambitious(sometimes over-ambitious). It's a tough one to call, because they both peaked a while ago. But honestly, I would go with Beyonce.
No matter how hard Beyonce tries, she'll never be as relevant as Britney was, is and will ever be. The BeyHives need to accept the fact that Beyonce' never achieved such impact to stay relevant without resorting to Superbowl, huge endorsement deals and heavy promotion.
Duh, even Gaga managed to be bigger than she ever was in just a few years.
