Since I have absolutely no life, let's take a look at some, not all, of the rock bands that have "OMGZ SUFFERED TEH DEKLINE IN ABLUM SALEZ TEHEHE".
The Smashing Pumpkins:

Linkin Park:
Hybrid Theory - 10,000,000 +

The Offspring:

Ixnay on the Hombre - 1,000,000 +
Staind:

14 Shades of Grey - 2,000,000 +
Green Day:
Dookie - 10,000,000 +
Insomniac - 2,000,000 +
Haha. I just hate when people act like everybody has to top themselves with each and every follow-up, in this case, Evanescence. I know The Offspring's Americana and Green Day's American Idiot actually saw an INCLINE in sales, but tell me, did they match the same success as their best-sellers? No. Didn't think so. And their next albums saw a downfall as well.
So, why does it matter?
