Windows Blue is basically what Apple is doing right now. I'm anxious to see how their method works out.

I just hope the change isn't too radical. Is it going to be free though?

I'm anxious as well. I hope they listened to their disgruntled complaints about the "Start" button. I for example, needed to have the Start Button because I'm in IT, and I need things fast (1-2 clicks). I hope they give us to have the option to switch back and forth between the classic and the metro start.

I hope there are two versions of Blue:
Touch or
Desktop.
Touch is obvious.. for touch devices/
screens.

Desktop having inspirations from windows 7 but mixing it up a bit more. Also a start button, Sounds perfect.

if youre in IT then you know about the lower right corner right click.

Only functionality missing is an automatically generated list of recent accessed docs and apps. literally.

I'll be getting it when my school has it available. I'm not here for the Metro UI though, I'll be on that Desktop mode

When you lump in smartphones and tablets. There are more now, but they'll never replace PC's.
And servers definitely arent going anywhere either.

First, i never read where laptops have been outsold by tablets, not including desktops. You must be including mobile phones.

And If we're including mobile phones, can't MS include Xboxes, cars, and MS might not make residuals off Android devices but they get a flat fee per most devices sold.

According to Microsoft, tablets are going to replace them. However anybody puts it, it's still a heavy decline + Microsoft is clearly worried about it.

I have Windows 8 and I'm enjoying it except for the fact that I just bought this laptop and sometimes it runs slows.

I still haven't installed it on mine yet but I briefly played around with someone else's laptop running Windows 8 and it... worries me.
