Kate Nash has been working on her third album for a while and it's finally coming together. 'Girl Talk' will be released March 4th. Kate has been releasing the albums track listing, song-by-song, every day on her Instagram @havingapartywithkatenash. I will update the thread with the track list as she posts it. I had so much hope for her with her first album.

Her second album was nowhere near as good, but that's normal for sophomore albums...

With what I've heard so far, I'm not excited in the least.

I liked several songs of both albums. I have a feeling that I'll like every song on this album. The new EP is okay, but I think the album will be even better. Listen to it again. I had the same opinion as you about her 2nd album, but like 3 months ago I was bored so I decided to listen to it again and it has some of her best tracks overall in there.

As for this new stuff she's been releasing, I'm not impressed. I don't understand why she had to ditch her whole style and try to be someone else. It's very alienating for those of us who knew the REAL Kate Nash

How do you know this isn't the real Kate Nash? Just give her new stuff a chance. You could absolutely love her new album. The live stuff from her new album are starting to sound really good. Just look up some of the live songs. Just like you're telling them to give the second album a chance, I'm telling you to give the new stuff a chance.

I will give all her new material a chance. But from what I've heard and seen, I feel very alienated as a fan of her first two albums

Her second album was a lot better than her first so I was SO excited for her third, but judging from the Death Proof EP....it will be a major decline. I mean it's alright and I still LOVE her for her values and message, but in terms of quality of music....meh

Also, I think she is being very true to herself on here, just exploring a different sound. Lyrically it's still similar to what she's done.

Love her second album, but have really been put off by her "riot grrrl" make over. The last few songs she has released have been really underwhelming. I liked the hints of this feel that she put on the second album, but yeah this is a bit alienating.

I don't find this new stuff all that different. Have you heard 'O My God!' ? It doesn't sound much different than her older stuff!

"O My God" is actually the song that I have liked the most out of what I've heard. But I'm referring to "Underestimate the Girl", "Death Proof" and "Fri-end". Like I said in a post I made a while back, I love the girl and think she is unbelievably talented. I really like her more experimental tracks on the 2nd album ("I've Got A Secret", "Mansion Song") and that she took some the songs to a weird place structurally, but most of these newer songs have seemed to put her vocals on the backburner.

Also, after relistening to MBFIY recently, I have come to like it more than the debut, to be honest. Parts of it are a lot like MOB, parts of it are like riot grrrl Kate and there's a dash of Regina Spektor-ish musicality that I enjoyed (even though I didn't love her most recent album on that note).

I actually prefer "Are You There Sweetheart" to this. Like I said, I will give the EP a chance and I'm sure I'll like at least a couple of songs, but this shift has just been a bit polarizing for me at the moment.

It seems like there are people who loved her old style and hate the new style, or people who hate the old style and love the new style. I liked songs off of Made of Bricks & My Best Friend Is You, but I'm most excited for Girl Talk.

A BBC radio show played a new song of hers today called "3 AM". I ripped the audio.

He said that this song would be released on February 18th, and that Girl Talk would be released early March, so I'm guessing the album is out the 4th or 11th.

I'm liking the sound of these new tracks. Not too fond of her debut but I quite like My Best Friend Is You. Looking forward to this!
