Oh I don't know, maybe the fact that as soon as she began to gain control, open up, speak her mind & HANDLE her own career, she was drugged, paraded around town, publicly humiliated, taken advantage of, used, abused, held in a psychiatric ward against her will, had her children taken from her & was under the constant pressure, scrutiny & harassment of an entire world of STRANGERS. It's enough to drive anyone into developing anxiety & trust issues.

Britney was almost a sacrifice - just like MJ, Whitney & Amy. She was going to be made an example of. "Do not rebell against the machine that made you". But she pulled through for her children. And that is why she is so reserved. That is why they keep her as silenced & as medicated as they can - she plays along because her children are worth more to her.

Britney is tougher than people give her credit for, she's a fighter. She's just been placed in a helpless position.
