She doesn't say yes to stunts, Paula and Scott say yes to stunts. We have to understand that there's a driving force behind taylor's image. Yes she manages most of her own music, tour, philanthropy, etc., but when it comes to how the public perceives her, it's a whole different ballgame.

I know that. But she could say no... she has the power to leave the label, any other label would accept her with wide-spread arms.
I feel like they're holding something against her... 
I mean why would she act if she doesn't want to? Or like do they direct guys at her and she just falls in love with them without figuring it's a stunt?

Did you not think about the human-sized birdcage in her apartment? 3 songwriters live there. She comes in and says ''I broke up with someone, they kept my scarf, they have blue eyes, we're never getting back together, write the songs''.
And they do or else she'll kill them.
This is how 'she' comes up with those great lyrics from publicity stunts.
