Basically, I wanted to start a blog to help gay/bisexual/lesbian/straight ATRL members who need help making that first move on someone they are interested in. So this is where ATRL members can tell their personal stories, struggles, situations, and other ATRL members can give advice towards relationships.

I'll start
My situation is that I am closeted and literally no one has a clue I'm bi. Sometimes people will "jokingly" call me gay and I feel like some people can sense that I'm on the fence. I really like this one kid. We are both in college but go to separate schools. We became friends through each others friends. We have never hung out alone, only in groups. This Winter break I made plans to hang out with him with other people at least 5 times. All of our friends say he is gay "jokingly" as well. And he acts gay imo. He has never dated a girl and is 19! Would it be weird to hang out with him alone seeing how we only have hung out in groups so far? The problem is I don't know what to do if we were to hang out because he doesn't play video games what so ever and I feel asking him out to lunch or movie would be a clear give away that I'm bi... Btw we are going sledding this week with another girl who we have both been friends with forever. I just don't know what to do because I afraid of being rejected and everyone finding out my secret.

P.S. he goes back to school on the 15th

I'd probably tell him "let's go to the movies with x x x and x", but just inviting 1 or two people, the less the ammount of people, the easier it will get for you to start a convo, the typical personal questions (siblings, where he lives, what does he like) and he'll start being confident around you build confidence first!

I already know all that stuff because we have hung out in groups throughout High School. The problem is I just don't know how to get him alone without it being awkward...
And since I already know all the main things about him can I ask him to hang alone or is it still too soon?

You should try to add him on Facebook or something and talk to him to see his interest, that may help you to find out if he is gay, like what kind of music he likes or what tv shows he watches. Then if you are kinda shure he is you should ask him to grab a beer someday like "hey I want to go out but ___ is not answering her phone, wanna go?".

The last part is nice, but wouldn't he look like a stalker by adding him on FB?
He should hint him that he has a FB and is friends with people he knows like "omg this pic x just uploaded" and show him the post or something, maybe he does something and you'll know the level of interest more efficiently

I meet him sophomore year in High School and we had a school activity together but didn't really talk. However, I would see him really only when our groups of friends had everyone over for a party. So i only saw him like 6 times every year outside of school. Starting this winter break i was done waiting for him to come to me so I started making plans with groups that involved him. This Winter break we went to three parties/gatherings, dinner twice, and are going sledding. All of these have been within the past month, both times after dinner we went back to a friends house to hangout for a little and just talk. Whenever I invite him to these things he gets really excited, but he has to invite me anywhere.... . Once he invites me once even I'd feel more confident to ask him to hang alone but im too shy still

I think my main problem is a lack of confidence with males. If it were a girl I could ask any but I feel weird asking guys for some reason to hang out alone

It's always hard for first-timers, we're afraid of what'd be nice and what wouldn't, but in the end being yourself will always be the best option, does any of your friends know you're bi?

I'm closeted, so no one knows except maybe this girl at my school that I have on my personal tumblr. So yeah, there's no chance of me dating anyone or even considering telling the guy I like how I feel b/c if I do and he isn't gay or bi, I'd be screwed.

Anyway, the guy I'm talking about came to my school last year in grade 11, he started becoming friends with my friends through the same physics class or s/t but I didn't even know of him until 2nd semester when he was in 2 of my classes. I started talking to him as well here and there and we became kind of friends. In the first class we had together we sat apart and didn't talk much but in our second one together we sat side by side, and he would quite often "flirt" with me. He did things like ask me for massages (once he "jokingly" asked for a tigh massage ), running his finger along my chin and face, teasing me, staring at me for extended times, randomly touching me etc etc. But since I'm a p.ussy I didn't flirt back much and haven't said anything to anyone. Now it's a year later in grade 12 and we hardly talk even though he is much closer with my other friends than ever and he acts more manly and "straight", and always talking about girls all of a sudden. To this day I still don't know what or if I should say anything because I keeping thinking that I was just desperate for someone to like me and was misinterpreting the things he did.

Dating is complicated and love is hard but the #1 rule is:

Don't go after someone for their money. As Bob Dylan says, don't let ANYBODY get your kicks for you. Be independent, because money comes and goes and love comes and goes. You provide for yourself. The house you live in? You better have bought it. The car you drive in? That better be yours.

It depends on who they are. The invite out with mutuals is good. If they jump at the chance it's a sign.
