Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputies and search and rescue personnel are looking for Cole Evans, a 7-year-old boy who was last seen by his grandmother at 10 a.m. Saturday on her property near My Way Road and Lazy Days Road outside Seligman.
The boy's grandmother told deputies that, without her knowledge, Cole wandered off her property in an area adjacent to the more commonly known Anvil Rock Road, said Dwight D'Evelyn, YCSO spokesman.
Neighbors were contacted and searched the area for the boy before YCSO was notified just prior to 12 noon, D'Evelyn said.
Cole Evans is a Caucausian boy who is 4'2" and weighs about 70 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a black hooded coat with a Batman emblem and black snow boots. Cole's direction of travel is unknown.
Detectives and search team leaders are coordinating a search using both ground and air support and help from the Department of Public Safety, D'Evelyn said.
As the search for Cole, who has a form of autism, continued into the night, personnel used night-vision equipment to aid their efforts as they canvassed area neighborhoods, according to D'Evelyn. The Department of Corrections has also had search dogs on scene since midafternoon.
There is no evidence of foul play and the family is fully cooperating.
Cole's family lives in Phoenix; they were in the Seligman area visiting a relative's vacation home.
Anyone with information regarding the missing child is urged to call 911.

Two Seligman residents who volunteered their time to help search for 7-year-old Cole Evans found the boy under a trailer about 1.5 miles from his grandmother's home at about 11:45 a.m. Sunday.
Cole was last seen by his grandmother at 10 a.m. Saturday on her property near My Way Road and Lazy Days Road outside Seligman.
While driving and checking for potential hiding places on Sunday, the two Seligman residents saw a young boy underneath a trailer, said Dwight D'Evelyn, spokesman for the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.
When the residents stopped to investigate, the boy came running towards them and both recognized Cole immediately, D'Evelyn said.

Detectives are hoping to sort out Cole's path of travel during the last 24 hours and determine exactly how he survived the 15-degree overnight temperatures.
Cole apparently wandered off to explore, but got lost, D'Evelyn said, adding that
Cole said he was aware of the helicopters overnight, but it was when he saw the two rescuers drive by that he knew to run to them for safety.
Sheriff Scott Mascher, who participated in the search, spoke with Cole's family and shared his delight regarding the outcome.
Cole's parents, Kyle and Chany Evans thanked everyone who searched for their son, D'Evelyn said.
