Will Thrift Shop smash WW, though? I know it's already big in Australia but I see it pulling a "We Are Young" at most. (It'll probably end up as this year WAY now that I think about it)

Yes, Thrift Shop will definitely smash worldwide (as did We Are Young).
I usually dislike rap unless it has pop in it but Macklemore & Ryan Lewis just rock with Thrift Shop! He is a smart rapper, and you can tell that by listening not only to his current single but to "Same Love" as well (hope it smashes too). Most rappers sing about how cool is to be rich and have swag or other worthless stuff, no wonder why they don't go top 10 these days! But Congrats to the new prince of rap, Macklemore!
