I know right. This is such a mess. I don't think I can remember any of her eras having so many songs getting this much reception from the public WITHOUT an official release.

TS is giving me CMM teas (in terms of chart run). CMM entered the hot 100 top ten in April with barely any airplay (18 million I believe), but it was already selling 180-200K and pulling in 700-900K weekly streams. Wouldn't be surprised if this followed the same run as it.

What's the point of "giving up" anyway? Just because she won't hit number one due to horrible label management and an idiotic label head doesn't mean she should just abandon the single completely. At the very least, the album is still selling. And that is more important than a number one single.

And the album being withheld from Spotify doesn't make it the reason she's selling.

Thrift Shop will snatch IKYWT and will eventually hit #1 in the BB100.

Most likely. It's already is in top on streaming, and with radio AI increase it will increase also in downloads. For me it feels like 5+M seller. But they should remove single version IMHO, because now there are 4 versions of son charting on iTunes.

Honestly, though it makes sense. Streaming is for artists who are losing album sales like no tomorrow and need to generate more revenue. It's for artists who are concerned about getting their singles to new heights with the new Billboard rules. Based on how this album has crossed three million in TWO MONTHS and the first single has gone 3x plat and the second single 2x plat, she's not exactly concerned about either of those things.

I'm pretty certain it's just a post-holidays boost.

Thrift Shop is actually clever and funny, though. Instead of bragging about how much he's spending, Macklemore brags about how little he spends, making the case that there's really no shame in cutting corners and hunting for bargains. And really, if you think about it, is he wrong? At the end of the day, he looks just as fabulous as his colleagues who are decked out in expensive designer clothing. Only difference is that they spent a fortune and he spent next to nothing. So who's the real winner?
