The singer and X Factor judge is an introvert and shies away from socialising despite her seemingly confident appearances on stage preferring her own company to spending time with others.
"I'm a very private person and only have a few friends," Nicole confessed to British magazine Fabulous. "I get very shy if I have to go to an event or walk a red carpet and be around a lot of people. It takes me a while to come out of my shell. I'm a loner - in school, when I was in college, always a loner."
"I think it's because I'm always living in my head with a million things going on," Nicole continued. "It's just how I was made. It's got me to where I am today."
But she was so hyper/free when she was on UK xFactor for the first time, she's not arrogant/cocky she's a true character, not sure why she said this. She doesn't come across as lonely but everyone popstar says the same.
i'm the same way! it's funny because i always assumed that only extroverted, social butterflys got to be celebrities.
I think it's the opposite. A lot of celebrities seem to be introverted types looking for attention/validation/approval from others. They don't perform well in social settings, but they can on stage where they're fed lines or choreography and pretend to be something they're not.

Introverts are like that. It takes us a while to come out of our shells but when we do get comfortable, we can be the life of the party.
