I don't see how merely saying the word counts as a confirmation of anything. The Monsters do too much by hanging on to her every word thinking it's a hint at something.
I'm okay with controversial if it's meaningful like "Judas" was (even though it's not even controversial at all when you really dissect the lyrics - it's just about admitting that we're not perfect and that we all sin).
I'm also okay with controversial if it's from actual experiences which this is (unless, out of left-field, this isn't about Jakarta).
