This album showed that TLC wasn't done yet, despite the fact that bankruptcy, criminal charges, chronic diseases, addictions, and internal conflicts nearly ended them after their blockbuster album CrazySexyLegends. No Scrubs is essential for 90s R&B fans and Unpretty was Christina Aguilera's Beautiful before Beautiful ever existed. The first half of this album slays, but the second half relies too much on boring mid tempos and AC ballads to keep my attention. I would place it waaayyy lower on the countdown if I was the one who made it.

Whitney's albums tend to divide filler and great songs evenly and this one is no exception. Heartbreak Hotel and It's Not Right are obviously the best songs and were obvious single choices. Whitney's voice was damaged by the late 90s (compare these vocals to those on The Bodyguard or even The Preacher's Wife) but she was still out singing all of your faves not named Mariah Carey at this point in time. Shouldn't be this high, but we will all deal (especially madges and thediscomonkey )
I've heard only positive things about the next album out but I've never listened to it. I would love for someone to write a quick blurb for it if they would like.
