That depends on the person and whether they are sentimental enough about the idea of marriage. I consider marriage to be a term that has largely lost all the historical connotations in contemporary times because it's just "required" and promoted in our society that a couple cannot be certified as genuinely happy without walking down the aisle. I consider marriage today to be when a couple is both together for a long period of time without complications. You don't need a certificate to justify your love.
