I'm really not feeling this new direction they've gone in.
It's like We The Kings all over- amazing 1st effort, passable 2nd, mediocre 3rd. This seems totally devoid of any fire or spark.
It seems like only All Time Low have managed to bring it on the pop-punk front this year.
I know I'll get around to getting this album sometime in the neat future, but I'm scared I'm going to feel this way too. Liked their first album, liked the second a little bit more, but I haven't been overly impressed with the few songs I've heard off of this one so far. Hopefully I'm wrong.
My favorites are Take Me Home, Life of the Party, Cheated, and Shoot. The only song on the album that I don't care for is "Hey You", but the rest are great! So much better than "Love Drunk" was as a whole. Though I do wish they'd bring back that sound and mood they had in the first album. Their debut is just flawless!
I got this for Christmas and am finally getting around to listening to the whole album now!
By the way, the aesthetics of this album are perfect. The front and back covers, the booklet, the CD design, everything. Hopefully the music is just as good.
