My current TV is Samsung. I won't hate, yet.

That's the thing. We don't know yet. Possibly translucent display as well, but we have no clue what its function is yet. CES starts on January 8th so we'll have all the details then.

Samsung has invested a lot of R&D into translucent and flexible handheld displays over the years. Last year at CES, they unveiled their window display (http://www.geek.com/articles/chips/s...play-20120116/), so I'm thinking this is a further iteration of that concept but in the form of a media consumption or home entertainment device.

My good sis Rasta is both and I love it. He brings his honest opinions as do most of us non Apple fanboys.

But the portrait thing scares me. Love the translucent idea. Not sure what they are envisioning with portrait mode though.

I own a Samsung TV too. They probably do make the best TVs currently. The whole point of this is to try to make a market I'm guessing for the portrait TVs hence why they were poking fun at the 16:9 ones in the ad. Not sure why considering everything is filmed in 16:9. The whole switching from portrait to landscape for a TV seems tiring.
