No one could have predicted them to flop like they did. Marry The Night may never reach the Platinum certification and Warrior is pulling Bionic/Lotus numbers.
Which one surprised/chocked you the most ? Gaga's 5th single (radio friendly, fan favorite, got a lot of promo) or Ke$ha's last album (had a pretty big lead single and was supposed to be a "REVOLU$HUN) ?
Kesha was never a big album seller and she took a break so that wasn't surprising to me. MTN was called one of the best songs on the album from the start and it had lots of performances/promo so that.
I thought Kesha was going to shame everybody, but I thought MTN would revive BTW. I'm going with Warrior though because it has all the makings for smash
It was never supposed to be a "REVOLU$HUN" in the sense of what everyone is making it
ATRLers love to shade with false receipts. Get educated, you look a fool.
I was honestly more surprised with the performance of 'Marry the Night'. It's one of the most commercially appealing songs on Born This Way. Even though it was the last single, the song should have made the top 20 at least.
Reflecting on Warrior, Ke$ha doesn't really have much credibility in the music industry. She doesn't really have a lot of respect, and the public already have the wrong impression of her. Those two reasons are going to turn people away from buying the album. 'Die Young' was quite a noteworthy hit in English-speaking countries, but she needed something even bigger to pull better numbers on a worldwide scale. Obviously I expected the album to do somewhat better, but it doesn't surprise me that much. She doesn't have a large fan base.
I did think MTN was going to be alright, not great but not a #29 peak. Anyway, I'm gonna say Warrior, an album flopping like that is worse and more unexpected than one single.
