 21.Olly Murs
 Troublemaker (ft. Flo Rida)

 | |
 Album: Right Place Right Time
This is the first of my late entries that I decided really should make the cut, and with good reason.

This is only the second single I've ever liked by Olly, but it's a fantastic song that I heard a while ago. I first heard it around a month and a half ago but I felt like I've known it for years, it was really strange!

I somewhat ignore Flo Rida's section (despite it not being his worst contribution to a song). Aside from that though, the song is infectious, catchy as **** and a really good song from Olly. I remain impressed.

 20.No Doubt
 Settle Down

 | |
 Album: Push and Shove
In all honesty I was never a huge No Doubt fan, so through the 'excitement' of their reunion (on the site as well as in real life) I was never really phased.

I listened to the song upon release and it was a mess. I got half way through and turned it off - it's not that I hated it, it just wasn't really anything listenable. *Insert generic 'skip a few weeks ahead' here* I was curious as the hype had died down, so I decided to give the song another listen. Despite the long intro and outro, the song is actually really good!

Better than the overrated Looking Hot, this song remains relatively underrated and deserved to be a semi-smash (the radio edit) because it's catchy, fun and carefree. Obviously it's far from their best, but nonetheless a good comeback single from the band.

 TWO SONGS I LOVE, YASSSSSS!!!
so glad Olly made it. that song sounds a bit Maroon 5-ish but I still love it.

and Settle Down is my jam! it's so much fun to listen to. and I totally get what you mean about not digging it at first and then going back after a while and suddenly you like the song happens to me a lot.

check out mine before I update    |

Gonna start posting ~4 per day (or maybe 3) to try and get this moving a little quicker. I love doing it but I'll be really distracted after next week and I want to finish it.    |

No, I'm kidding. I actually really like the song and I think it does have something about it that stands out a little against it's competition.

And "Settle Down", yes.    |

 19.Nicki Minaj
 Pound the Alarm

 | |
 Album: Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded
I just had a momentary lapse and swapped the position of this with Candy because this song has peaked in terms of enjoyment for me, and it's falling rapidly.

It wasn't my first obsession from PF:RR (Roman Holiday, Young Forever, Fire Burns and Beautiful Sinner all preceded it) but when I latched on, man did I become obsessed! I played it so much it was ridiculous! Not constantly, but I'd listen to it a few times every day.

Around a month and a half ago though the song began getting overplayed (by the radio and my sister) and I've really started to dislike it now. In fact I was going to replace it on here with another of the songs from the album but I can't do that when I remember how much I loved it at one point. Had it never been overplayed I would still adore it, but life's a ****er like that.

 18.Robbie Williams
 Candy

 | |
 Album: Take the Crown
Let me start off by abusing Robbie a little... **** you Robbie for releasing this at the start of winter! It's the perfect summer jam and would have smashed if released early summer, so **** you very much.
That being said, hearing the song on a cold winters day makes me feel a lot better and makes it seem sunny, so kudos for that.

Anyway, this song is just pop perfection. Idek, it's so catchy, simple and yet perfectly produced that there's not a bad thing to say (sans the already mentioned). I've always loved Robbie's singles and this was no different, and the video is really great too.

But no, it wasn't the 'formula' that felt familiar - the lyrics, melody and chorus sounded like I actually knew them. I think it was because the song had been on radio a while before that but I'd never actually paid any attention it it.    |
