PULLING UP ONE-DAYSIES:
UMe’s Now 25 appears headed for the #1 spot on next week’s HITS Album Sales Chart. The hit singles collection is on target to move between 230-250k so far, though previous Nows seem to build through the weekend, so it could go even higher. The big surprise of the week is Universal Republic singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat, who, as noted previously, had a huge first-day number at iTunes, with the single, “Bubbly,” offered as a free download. The act is also highlighted in iTunes’ new release e-mail, so second-day numbers should also be strong, with an expected first-week total of between 50-60k. Capitol’s Yellowcard is up next with a first-week tally between 40-50k. Other debuts include Cherry Tree/Geffen’s pop-rock swains Rooney (14-16k) and Island’s The Rocket Summer (14-16k). The new High School Musical single for Disney, “What Time Is It?” is blowing out to the tune of 100-125k units, while the Avenged Sevenfold DVD appears headed for 12-15k in first-week sales. (7/18p)
They aren't. I didn't even know they had another album out next week and they did even less PR for this album than the last. Not to mention the fact that there is no real first single to account for.
