Rihanna is a monster in the UK....to be able to sell 1.8m with one album, then 1m with the next and 1m AGAIN (Unapologetic is heading for that number) coming out only a year apart is fantastic, the public don't get tired of her.

I do think she should have re-released Loud though, Talk That Talk was a rush job and not really a proper album like Unapologetic is...it's more of a collection of random songs that her A&R thought could be hits, there's no overarching theme or cohesion. With "We Found Love" as the re-release lead single, You Da One, Where Have You Been and maybe Roc Me Out as re-release tracks it could have done 8-10m worldwide.

Oh you mean that double album, WHICH WAS RE-RELEASED AND dragged out for 2 1/2 YEARS, that sold 2.4 million where rihanna;s ONE album sold 1.9 Million and still selling, and had a campaign for 10 months?????????

1.8m in the UK is equivalent to 9m in the US, so yes, this is a big deal.

I'm glad Loud outsold GGGB, it has far better hits.

Really? 21 has sold like 3.5 million in the UK. So you will sit at trying to tarnish this achievement. It is absolutely massive to sell this many albums in the UK

Oh, I thought she was a best album seller over there, I think The Fame has sold about 2,8 million over there, and thought GGGB and Loud were at 3 million maybe.

Still, pretty good for her, congrats, Loud is her best album.

If 1.8 million is 6x Plat in the US, then that would make it equal to 6 million in the states, not 9.

In terms of population size, though, 1.8m UK = 9m US (as the US has roughly 5x the population).

Well yeah, making TTT the whole album was definitely a mistake. At first she wanted a re-release (I believe she tweeted something like that) but then after recording some material she got so excited for it she decided to create a whole new album.
WFL as a Loud re-release single would have done wonders for Loud. Too bad. But let's move on.
