Me personally i haven't because i don't know how to drive, but my friend takes her Mother's car almost every night (recently being lastnight) we've only gotten caught once but still do it so what about you?
Two things that would get you caught if you do:
1) The Mileage will be higher
2) But most importantly fill up the gas tank to exactly where the needle was when you stole it

We only got caught that one time because my friend's Mom heard us leave (i think) she called her about 20 minutes after we left and we both got yelled at
Actually come to think to think of it, we didn't technically steal it, but we took a 3-hour drive to see my brother's now wife at their college. We were at a meijers at 2:00 AM and I said 'let's take a drive'. And we did. Our mom called us up and asked where we were.
But that visit made her feel loved, and they got married in 2009.

Me and my friends took their Mom's car lastnight and got caught now she's trying to send my friend to "get help" because she "isn't happy" her Mom is NOT playing
I did it a couple of times during my senior year in HS. I really wanted to go to a party that didn't start until late (11PM). I waited until she went to sleep and took the car around 10:30. I got back in the house around 2AM, and as I walked in, she was waiting in the living room with the belt.
