Pardon my ignorance on locations, I always thought New Delhi was in the middle east but if its India i kind of understand.
The Indian culture subdues the girl child and treats her like a commodity, plus all the forced marriages, those men end up unsatisfied in such households, plus the dysfunctional atmosphere it brings can be damaging. It deeply hurts me to see such gross and vile occurences against innocent girls.

This is so terrible, but as F***ed up as it sounds, it needed to happen so India can change their policies on rape and how people perceive it.

There will be others, but hopefully the GP in India can at least help other victims, unlike this poor woman.

Arranged marriages in India was outlawed a long time ago. I know India has a VERY long history of treating women badly but the protests shows that they are getting better, slowly but surely.

Even after this incident, nothing has changed. Rapes are still happening. I remember reading about almost 5-6 rape cases in the newspaper today

Forced marriages are outlawed, but arranged marriages still exist and most people there have no problem with it. Dating and pursuing a partner is not common Asia except with really (pseudo) westernized types.
