Olivia's character is loosely based on the life of D.C. crisis manager, Judy Smith. Smith was the fixer for Clinton, Marion Barry, Michael Vick, Clarence Thomas, and BP after the Gulf oil spill. Smith is also credited as a producer for the series.

The rating are so very impressive and consistent. It's also made by the same person who produced Grey's Anatomy. (a black women).

This would have been news when the show premiered a year ago.
