i just find it hard to believe that Cheryl would of entered the US Xfactor with no ambition to crack the market, when she already had an album and a single from Calvin Harris ready to go

To save face or their friendship perhaps? There is just no way they would of got her back after all the **** went down. People / producers / fox woudn't just admit they were wrong and why would Cheryl want to go back. She would look like a tool

She obviously planned to capitalise on the X Factor and release an album, but actually the press at the time were saying her previous songs were being remixed for the US edition of her album and would likely record a few new tracks.

And she didn't really start work on her third album until after she was sacked, and the Calvin track didn't come until months after she was fired from the US show, I don't actually think it was recorded until the beginning of this year.

I've said my piece and I'm steadfast that Cher is the far superior of the two, but that ultimately time and space make the two pretty incomparable.

Basically. The entire AML album has US influences written all over it, whether the stans want to own up to it or not.

What's surprised me is how willing people are to take the HIGHLY mediated words of stars/acts/the media at a face value. The general public aren't privy to much of the stuff that goes on, and it's humourous to see all this mindless conjecture without basis going back and forth to represent some kind of defence to logical, valid points being made.

Cheryl's solo work has really always sounded American, especially her first album. Just because it has US influences isn't proof she wants to break that market.

5 studio albums with GA, 23 singles with GA, 3 solo albums, 7 solo singles (could be more if needed), hundreds of performances, 10 years long career and ALL THIS TIME she was SO desperately trying to crack America and failed every single time! Through years EVERYTHING she was doing was subordinate to her childhood dream of breaking into US, her actions speak for themselves, she has proven it many times, her desperation is painted on her face, and despite all of these efforts and plans she was unable to achieve her ultimate goal and HAS FAILED numerous times! Cheryl, what a flop you are. And that's not the worst. What is worse is her desperation of trying to make herself happen in US, let's underline it in every Cheryl related thread!

I believe it wasn't her intention to take part of X Factor just to release music in US. She did it because:
a) it was her well paid job
b) she was enjoying doing it
c) Simon was persuading and convincing her to do it, Will.i.Am was persuading and convincing her to do it, everyone from her entourage were doing it, they made a pressure on her and they were like "Gurl, do it! It's your big chance, are u crazy, don't waste it, you will be regrateting later!!", but I can tell you she was the less bothered, she even said in some interviews she didn't want to do it at first but she was convinced, and I believe she didn't agree on it TO release music there, I think she just wanted to do XF US and then POSSIBLY release there something if there will be huge demand for it (read: if everyone begged her to do it).
