Celeb News: James Arthur's credit card declined while on shopping spree

The 24-year-old was apparently attempting to buy a number of hats, trainers and tops (totalling £771.74) when his card was rejected due to insufficient funds.

According to the Daily Mail, Arthur ran into trouble when he reached the tills at Foot Asylum in Teesside Shopping Park in Stockton-On-Tees this Wednesday (December 26).

The 'Impossible' singer first decided to make a phone call to enquire whether money had been transferred to his account, before asking to speak to the manager. Staff then agreed that he could take his clothing haul home and return at a later date to settle the bill.

Arthur had returned to his hometown for the holidays and spent Christmas Day in Saltburn. An avid Middlesbrough fan, he also attended the club's game against Blackburn Rovers on Boxing Day and presented the match ball to the referee. source

I thought that too but if I were them, the free clothes that get sent from Topshop, H&M etc and the fame/exposure would be more than enough tbh. £30 seems quite reasonable in that perspective but it still looks cheap nonetheless coming from the biggest show in the UK.

Yeah for real, their accomodation, food and clothes will all be catered for, and I guess that £30 would be for luxuries like going out/cigerettes etc or some sense of freedom.. They don't really need any money since they treated like babies on the show. I'd quite happily do it for nothing.

Yeah, but isn't it ALL spent on marketing, recording etc. I don't think any of it gets paid out. Of course he'd get money from everything else, though, appearances etc.
