Yes, that was I meant. Circus Tour, her setlist, her outfits, her vision. Just listening to her talk about the process of recording the song itself ("Circus') and deciding on that concept you can tell she was the brain of her own comeback. I think she didn't have the time to craft some GREAT songs (hence the dud Out From Under, infrequent bop Kill The Lights and grossly overrated Shattered Glass scattering the mid-section of the album) but she made it work. And the singles yeah, she definitely felt most connected to them than anything. Obviously, cannot ignore Papa Spears' coming in and taking a belt to that ass.. but yeah.
Femme Fatale, just like Circus, a lot of what she said didn't match up with the final product. I won't forget her talking about writing songs at the piano and how the album would be Urban that Summer for her to have minimal writing credit and "Circus" & "Blur" being the most Urban-leaning tracks in the final product. But at least at the time of Circus she had determination and took control.
Dr. Luke ruined FF process, from the moment he stepped in. She won't go to him again, as much as some stans like to joke he'll probably have half the album or something like that. He didn't make
Blackout her magnum opus, so she'll keep him out if he doesn't fit her vision next album. FF did come out the way she wanted (great club record) but probably not in the same execution, if that makes any sense. That's also why I don't think she'll repeat the album's direction. It'd be a plesant surprise to see Luke gone and her to go on another Max boycott, and with the producers coming up and talking so far (Hit-Boy, Darkchild, Danja, Elijah Blake) it sounds as if that is so.
