Also, i am not surprised Madonna's tour is the highest grossing tour of 2012, even though most people didn't go to the MDNA show to hear the MDNA album, they came to hear her old hits. Nevertheless, i raise my glass to Madonna. She may have no single selling power left, and barley any album selling power left, but she's still a monster when it comes to touring.

It'll likely end up at $240 million at this point, barring a serious underperformance. I'd like to note that despite her "flop" dates in SA and other places, her average actually rose. But anyway, yes, she'd have done far more than $300 million if it was as long as the Monster Ball; almost $400 million actually.
You know, I know she hates her label telling her what to do, but I think they should at least suggest extending the tour to cover ARTPOP as well...
She SLAYS Asia, and needs an excuse to make more dates there, plus it would effectively double the tour length... she could bring in a TON of revenue if ARTPOP is successful as well.
I can't at ANYONE thinking BTW was a underperformance of an era, let alone a substantially large group of people.
Right? The tour for the era is going to pull more than double what the majority of ATRL faves could manage, the album has been outsold in recent memory by only Adele, Gaga herself, and now Buble with an Xmas album, and it had three worldwide hits and a local hit. What kind of brilliant "flop" era?
Compared to her previous eras, it could be perceived as such. But it's hardly as bad as ATRLers make it out to be.
I mean, they're comparing her to the biggest female era of all time based on overall record sales, with seven global smash hits and three 10 million sellers, which won countless awards and made her one of the most awarded music video artists of all time, and placed her in the top 20 tours of all time. NOBODY could expect to improve after an era like that!
The "fading" logic is stupid because even when she take a self-chosen media break (besides perfume) in 2012, she was still all over media & TV, Internet etc. Obviously she tweeted & gave hints about her new album to hype herself up, but... the response she gets to those types of things shows how powerful she still is.
I do think her next album will open lower than BTW in the US. 500-600K is my prediction, but it will have a more healthy chart run.

I'd have to agree. Personally I see it somewhere in the 600k range, and I'd be overjoyed with a 700k opening, but I see better longevity afterward and maybe the same (or hopefully slightly better!) numbers in the end.
