I was watching MuchMusic (I'm not Canadian though) since they were always ahead in showing music videos than MTV for some reason. Then the video for Bills Bills Bills came on and I was like what kind of ridiculous song is this And back then LeToya was hotter than Beyonce too.
my 1st memory of her is seeing her megawatt smile on a pepsi billboard in Nigeria then i first heard her speak in an interview with Channel O (an African cable tv station). She had the DIL era fringe. One of the quotes that struck a chord with me was, "music has been a part of my life for as long as i can remember". I didnt know back then that i'd grow to love her so much, I think the check on it video sealed the deal for me. I literally replayed that vid daily back in the day
I loved DC but my favorite was always Beyonce. I remember when i bought survivor and i would steal Writings On The Wall from my cousin to listen to it. I've always been a Beyonce Fan but i truly didn't become a stan until i seen The Beyonce Experience tour. Just her essence as she performed gave me so much life and then i saw I Am....Sasha Fierce and i was blown away AGAIN...she's the only artist i can watch a WHOLE concert of and ENJOY Every MINUTE of it
It was when I first came to Canada in 2004. My mom loved Bey and would always mention her and one day was like: Look, it's Beyoncé. We were watching the Baby Boy video; I was amazed with her and how gorgeous I found her. Ever since, I've been a follower.
I first spotted Bey in the original DC4 in the 'Bills, Bills, Bills' video in 1999. It was glorious and my mom took me to get 'The Writing's On The Wall' album.
I casually listened to Survivor/Independent Women/Jumpin Jumpin, and I had herd CIL's "Uh Oh, Uh Oh" on the radio in 2003, it wasn't until I saw the "Baby Boy" video that I begged my mom to let me buy her CD when I was 10 or so, my first album purchase
