Lady Gaga. She was in the news, her FAME perfume was a smash, she has had a critically-acclaimed world tour. There is also hype building for her new album.

Britney had....X-Factor. I don't think this did her any favors, as she came off as uninterested and personality-less.

Also, people seemed to care about Gaga more, having more public interest in the US and WW.
