I dont know what so bad about that performance. She still sings like that now except with less lower tone accentuated and nobody give her slack about it. In fact, they even praise her now.
Her voice is not really changed, but you can see here that her vocal technique was not that good. She is constantly moving higher or lower throughout the song, and moreover, not melodically. Now she can stabilize her voice tone, but this live is very disappointing. I think she was also very stressed.
