She's not being sued for being late as much as she's being sued for cutting an approximately 2 hour show to approximately 40 minutes while still charging full price for those tickets.

I kind of understand why they are pressed. But artists are bound only to their own imagery and feelings. So many musicians change the set list spontaneously right on the stage, so many musicians cut the concerts short when they dont feel well or when they dont like the atmosphere (and simply walk away), so many musicians have huge delays for whatever reason etc. People who want to see exactly what is written on the card and dont want to wait for the concerts shouldnt go to lives, they should just buy a live DVD

Whether it's the artist being greedy or the concert promoter being greedy or both, I think this is a good precedent to set. It shouldn't be the show must go on no matter what especially when that means a show was cut nearly in half. I also wouldn't mind Madonna's butt getting in line about what time she starts a concert. 10:30 and after starts are ridiculous although I don't think this suit would be won on lateness. It would likely be won on the nearly 50% cut of the show.
