plus besides the tentpole films, american films are no longer international commodities. Most countries are producing thier own films and american moviestars are irrelevant. I don't know why american music is still popular allover the world but with K pop maybe K pop will take over as the next global superstars

Albums are way of the dinosaur. I think concert ticket sales are more relevant measure of success.

Reality TV has killed movies and TV show's celebrity. Music stars and socialites are more attainable than any actor could ever be. TV shows are usually seasonal and movies are never a sure way of seeing your fave, the frequency isn't large for respected actors.

Now you have music stars who have official releases, videos, award shows, performances, leaks of unreleased music, interview, YouTube, reality TV and ANYTHING that an actor has at their disposal

You can't state it as a fact... I mean overall then it can be true but it comes down to individuals. I mean look at Robert Pattinson at his peak and look at Lindsay Lohan.

Ok, but is mostly national especially with Lindsay Lohan. She is a national commodity but I doubt peope in Japan know about her like they do Rihanna
