You're correct that SACRED & SUPERIOR is a definite highlight of Taylor's career.

You should, the album is more of that vein in general

Garbage and Santigold ^_^
Oh man, forgot Starships and Dark Side came out this year XD
lol, I forgot about Jason Mraz and Alanis too XD
Demi ^_^
So I just heard "The Boys" by Nicki and Cassie recently... good song but did not realize anything with the song for a while, apparently. I don't know why Cassie doesn't do as well as she could
Karmin love <3
Great list of singles, in general.

JEIBERT's Best of 2012 | aLBUm 39; sINGLEs 74-72; aRTISt 24
*Lay-out suits best in LiveWire color scheme
DAVID GUETTA - "Nothing but the Beat 2.0"
| Released: September 10, 2012
Genre: EDM, dance-pop, electro house
Label: Virgin, EMI
Producer: David Guetta, Sandy Vee, Giorgio Tuinfort, Frédéric Riesterer, Black Raw, Afrojack, Avicii
TOP 5 TRACKS:
01. Titanium (featuring Sia)
02. Turn Me On (featuring Nicki Minaj)
03. Little Bad Girl (featuring Taio Cruz & Ludacris)
04. She Wolf (Falling to Pieces) (featuring Sia)
05. Wild One Two (featuring Nicky Romero & Sia)
After placing in #15 on the albums list of last year's Best of, the re-release version of "Nothing but the Beat" places on just above the Top 40 spot this year! Primarily, due to the singles which feature the amazing Sia, it gave the album a very pleasing amount of plays. The "2.0" release version features more collabs ranging from Sia, Akon which appeared on the original version to new collabs with Ne-Yo, fellow DJ and producers, Avicii, Nicky Romero, Afrojack, Alesso and as well as unexpected acts, Tegan & Sara, Nervo twins, and Taped Rai once again to provide us the beats for us to rave about on the dance floor.
Last Year's #39: One Direction - "Up All Night" |
RECAP: 65-64 | 63 | 62-61 | 60 | 59-58 | 60 | 57 | 56-55 | 54 | 53-52 | 51 | 50-49 | 48 | 47-46 | 45 | 44-43 | 42 | 41-40
DAVID GUETTA - "Turn Me On" (feat. Nicki Minaj)
| "...''Make me come alive, Come on turn me on
, Touch me, save my life, Come on and turn me on, I'm too young to die, Come on and turn me on, Turn me on, Turn me on, Turn me on, Turn me on..."
Album: Nothing but the Beat
Release Date: December 14, 2011
Genre: Dance-pop, house
Length: 3:20
Label: Universal, EMI
Writer(s): Ester Dean, Onika Maraj, David Guetta, Giorgio Tuinfort
Producer(s): David Guetta, Giorgio Tuinfort, Black Raw
Weeks on Chart: 7 weeks
Peak Position: #02
Last year, this was my #1 favorite song off the album! Nicki singing over the Guetta production was immediately an ear magnet for me! Can't say the same for this year though when it was released as a single (see the album above for its current placing). Amidst peaking as high as #02, what killed the chart life of the song was the disappointing music video! Oh well, the editing was just not that good but I really like the concept! It was a bit cheap on some parts. But well, the song was still one of my favorites off the album and it pretty did well at some point
Last Year's #74: Avril Lavigne - "Wish You Were Here" |
NELLY FURTADO - "Parking Lot"
| "...Bring your car to the parking lot, And ride all night till you get a spot, Cause we ain't doing nothing, No we ain't doing nothing, Me-Meet us in the parking lot, We're gonna turn the speakers up, Cause we ain't doing nothing, We ain't doing nothing, Na na na, ley ley, ah ah ha, Eh hey eh, Na na na, ley ley, ah ah ha, Eh hey eh.."
Album: The Spirit Indestructible
Release Date: September 17, 2012
Genre: R&B
Length: 5:25
Label: Interscope, MMG
Writer(s): Nelly Furtado, Rodney Jerkins
Producer(s): Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins
Weeks on Chart: 6 weeks
Peak Position: #04
From its lyrics to its production, the intent of this song was always to feel good and just chill! It was more radio friendly than the first two singles, but like its predecessors, this suffered the same if not , near the same chart fate. For me, this is the worst song off the epic album but still, its a jam for me! The video was very reminiscent of the her famous "Loose" era compared to the previous ones, and if Nelly would tour this era (which I doubt), this song title would be very fitting for the name and the venue where it would take place.
Last Year's #73: Foster the People - "Pumped Up Kicks" |
KYLIE MINOGUE - "Timebomb"
| "...Tell me now, woo, Do you wanna, wanna, wanna, woo, I wanna, wanna dance like it was the last dance of my life, I wanna woo, wanna, wanna, wanna, wanna, woo, Do you wanna, wanna dance, like it was the last dance, We're on a timebomb, it might not last long, So let's just do it right now, do it come on, We're on a timebomb, before the night's gone, Let's just do it right now, do it come on, come on...."
Album:
Release Date: May 25, 2012
Genre: Dance-pop, synthpop, house
Length: 2:57 (single version); 4:31 (extended version)
Label: Parlophone
Writer(s): Karen Poole, Paul Harris, Matt Schwartz
Producer(s): Matt Schwartz, Paul Harris
Weeks on Chart: 6 weeks
Peak Position: #02
Let me say this, as "she did it again!". The light force of pop music never fails to deliver especially when dance music is clearly in her vein! Still looking great, Kylie was such an amazement to see in the music video! While it was not on of her best, it was still a great song to listen and dance upon to! In this day and age, I wasn't even expecting that this would be the song of hers to reach Top 50 on U.S. iTunes chart! Mind us, U.S. iTunes chart!!! which was never her territory.
Last Year's #72: Beyonce - "Party" (feat. J. Cole) |
RECAP: 125-123 | 122-120 | 119-117 | 116-114 | 113-111 | 110-108 | 107-105 | 104-102 | 101-99 | 98-96 | 95-93 | 92-90 | 89-87 | 86-84 | 83-81 | 80-78 | 77-75

Genres: R&B, hip hop soul, neo soul, hip hop

At #24, is the princess of hip-hop and soul, Ms. Keyshia Cole! Actually, this year marks also her debut of her songs in any of my chart entries in my countdown as I was not keen to her past releases except for her features and "Heaven Sent". In the R&B scene, she was one of my most anticipated artist this year, and she came back strong with everything new! She brings fierceness in her two music videos which resulted to being both as number ones on my weekly chart this past weeks. Never I was excited before than any Keyshia Cole era, but at least not even in her prime, she brought her "A" game back!
