I'm seeing the movie tomorrow, so I'm waiting to listen to it till after that.
Yess, if you like it buy it, I want big sales for this soundtrack, I'm gonna try to give my time and listen to this
I have just listened to "I Dreamed A Dream" and I'm just on tears, Gosh, it's Damn, it's seriously a real beautiful, powerful and emotional song, wow, the way she sings it with so much passion, with so much feeling, it's like she lived and she had to pass through all of this and the track is the result of that, everything is perfect on that track
I'm right if I call it as one of the best songs of this year, I'm happy I discovered and I REALLY HOPE people can open their ears and just let this beautiful track on repeat 'cause you still want more and more, so mucu passion, so much everything
Please guys, after you listen to this Soundtrack, give us your opinion.. I'm gonna do it for sure! I just wanna know if there's a better song than IDAD on this album, if that can be possible
I'm very familiar with the musical -- there are better songs than IDAD. If you like IDAD, you'd probably like On My Own and Empty Chairs at Empty Tables a lot. I'd recommend watching the movie before listening to them so you know the story/context, though.
I'm gonna buy it tomorrow after the movie, and probably gift it to a few people. I want big sales too.

I like the Epilogue track better. IDAD is my 2nd best, then Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. Anne's IDAD is better when seen with the video because she acted it so beautifully. I can't

HDD is predicting 40-45k, which is respectable for a soundtrack.
I saw some guy saying it was gonna explode and sell about 350-500k
I really hope they release a complete recording, the highlights are just not enough! Some of my favorite moments from the film (Lovely Ladies, Do You Hear the People Sing) are not there, plus some really good ones (Look Down, At the End of the Day) are cut down I love the highlights though, don't get me wrong. I've had it in my truck listening to it ever since I saw the movie Christmas Day. Epilogue (especially Anne's part), On My Own, and In My Life/A Heart Full of Love are my favorites.
'Les Miserables' Soundtrack Sales Sizzle, Top 10 Bound on Billboard 200
The "Les Miserables" musical film soundtrack is on course to jump straight into the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart next week. Industry forecasters are suggesting the 20-song "Highlights" set may sell around 100,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Dec. 30.
Unlike most albums -- which are released Tuesday each week -- the "Les Miserables" album bowed on Friday, Dec. 21, four days before the film was released in U.S. theaters. The soundtrack arrived on the Billboard 200 this past week, with only three full days of sales, at No. 33 with 43,000 sold according to Nielsen SoundScan.
As the "Les Miserables" album was the only major new album that was released in the past week, it's getting seemingly extra promotion from digital retailers such as iTunes. As of Friday, Dec. 28, the album is featured in the store's main flash box, plus is pictured as the store's top "new music" release.
Further, as we've noted previously, holiday download gift cards are making waves at digital retailers this week, and the "Les Miserables" soundtrack is a likely beneficiary. Many consumers received gift cards on Christmas Day -- the same day the "Les Mis" movie opened in theaters. It only seems natural that "Les Mis" moviegoers with gift cards may have immediately downloaded the soundtrack on its opening day, if not shortly thereafter.
We'll likely continue to see the "Les Miserables" soundtrack make waves on the Billboard 200 over the coming weeks. Music-driven film soundtracks generally do well on the chart in January, thanks in part to a lack of competition from hot new traditional studio albums. In January 2011, for example, both the "Tron: Legacy" and "Country Strong" soundtracks spent multiple weeks in the top 10. Before that, we had top 10 placings in recent years from the likes of "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" (No. 6 in 2010), "Juno" (No. 1 in 2008) and "Dreamgirls" (No. 1 in 2007).
On Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart (below), "Les Miserables" is No. 4 while Taylor Swift's "Red" rules at No. 1. The Building tally is a precursor to the final Billboard 200 ranking -- reflecting the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week as reported by six major merchants.
It seems likely that "Red" will hang around at No. 1 for at least another week (if not more), as no new major albums were released this week. Below Swift this week on the chart is the fast-rising "Les Miserables" film soundtrack. The movie musical's companion album jumps from No. 33 to No. 2 with 136,000 sold and a whopping 218% sales gain. The set's 31-position jump is the largest to the top two since the Feb. 28, 2009 chart. That week, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss' "Raising Sand" rebounded 67 rungs from No. 69 to No. 2 after it won the Grammy Award for album of the year.
The "Les Miserables: Highlights" soundtrack was released on Friday, Dec. 21 -- four days before the film arrived in U.S. movie theaters. In the week ending Dec. 23, the set sold 43,000 (with only two full days of sales). It was only natural for the album to see a big gain this week, after it had registered a full seven days' worth of availability and had the film's Christmas Day opening to help drive sales.
"Les Miserables" stars Hugh Jackman and is based on the hit stage musical of the same name. According to Playbill, the Broadway show ran for 6,680 performances between 1987 and 2003 and is the fourth-longest running show in Broadway history.
The last movie musical soundtrack to reach the top two on the Billboard 200 was "Hannah Montana: The Movie" album in May of 2009. It spent one week at No. 1 and seven weeks in the top two. The last adapted-from-a-stage-musical movie soundtrack to climb this high was "Mamma Mia!" in 2008, which rose to No. 1 for one week on Aug. 23 of that year.
