I thought I was in love with my friend too. But then graduation happened. It's so easy to forget.
My advice is gonna be the same what other members are saying; maybe you ARE in love. Then, you should just stay away from that straight fella. It will hurt you more and more each day if you stay spending time with him.

In exactly the same situation as you. It sucks.

You've just got to be rational. Put aside the gut emotion. Fully recognise that it is highly unlikely anything will happen and that you're wishing on a very small possibility. And try to move on.

My current best friend and I used to mess around a few months ago and I thought I was falling for him. I guess you could say I still have feelings for him but I'm satisfied with the way things are going

I'm kind of in the same situation.

I now live with my best friend in the same apartment, but we live in different rooms.

It started in freshman year. There's not many gay people at my school and I hadn't been exposed to many before college, so as soon I saw him, I "liked" him because I assumed he was bi. However, I was naive and young, plus I figured he didn't really like me back, so I kind of gave up, and we would talk on occasion.

The next semester I became friends with a few of his mutual friends, so we hung out more by association. Sophomore year, we hung out even more and we were in the same circle of friends. I felt like the feelings for him were coming back, but I would always just shake them off.

Finally this year, we decided to be roommates, and it worked out great. It's not awkward at all, we get along great, and I see him more as a great friend or brother. The only thing is that he is studying abroad next semester, so he won't be here for several months

Oh, and also we got drunk and hardcore ****ed the day before he left. But, still

I was in a situation like this recently.He was one of my closest friends and I just couldn't help it.We would have been so perfect together.....
What's worse is,he used to claim to be bi but changed really suddenly

So,we were getting even closer;we used to go for coffee and lunch all the time and just the 2 of us would hang out and he'd act really sweet.So obviously,I thought he was trying something...
Then,I found out he was going out with this girl and I got reeeeaaaallly jealous and depressed but passed it off as me just being down....
So,anyway,we got into a huge fight over the weekend over him ruining our groups secret Santa and always ignoring our texts and we've stopped talking to each other

But really,I feel better now knowing I don't have to be around him anymore.The moral of the story is that it's better to get away from them before you tear yourself apart inside....

Just tell him how you feel..... everyone's telling you to shut you off, so this could be a way. If he rejects you, you have no choice but to shut him off.

Take this. Telling someone is very difficult because you either get it, or not. But if you don't, he's not irreplaceable.

I used to be inlove with one of my best friends in high school too. But I chose not to tell her. First because I dont want to ruin our friendship and second I thought she liked somebody else. My feelings went away once I started college. When we saw each other again I found out she also liked me and we would have been together if only I got the balls.

Anyway I dont regret anything, we're still friends til now.

Ive been in this situation for 3 1/2 years now this guy would give me SO MANY hints such as http://atrl.net/forums/showthread.php?t=295585&page=18 recently we had huge falling out where we barely talked for 6 months so my friend was like you guys need to talk and i finally text him and said me: hey,so its been forever since ive really seen you. Icant even remember when the last time we hungout just us was, well i can but thats not the point. So what are we gonna do about this dannyboy?
And exactly 6hrs later he responds with with "we should hang soon"
and i was just like omg is he ****ing kidding me i send all that and he tells me soing i already told him and didnt even say when. Thanks tips. I was so mad i could have punched him in the face, luckily i didnt say anything cause soon after he said
"after im out ofschool (14) ill have 3 weeks off, then all our dreams can come true.
Me: ugh two weeks is so far away lthough it seems the payoff could be worth it... Okay propsal accepted i'll be waiting

26th today and he hasnt tried to get in contact with me once however when we do cross paths cause of our circle of friends he finds it necassary to tell me i love you randomly and comment how my hair looks "lushiousous" (what?) and talk about all this stuff hes been wanting to tell me. I have the exact same situation; except the guy IS gay & has a boyfriend.

We get along so well. He always comes over and talks to me, he send me pictures and texts me. ALL the signs are there and he is so cute and I almost feel in love - we also kissed at the work party

Then I told him I liked him and he said he just wants to be friends

So I ignored him for as long as I could and now we talk so much and he still sends me pictures of him sleeping.

I just don't understand
