For those of you who enjoyed Jumanji, the 1995 comedy-fantasy-adventure movie, starring Robin Williams, you are in luck. Sony Pictures is due to release a reboot of the creature-evoking board game enterprise in 2014. There has been no reference to a specific date as of yet.
The re-imagining will provide us with an updated version, to bring the film into present times, with the available graphics in 2014 juxtaposed those image-crafting gadgets on hand when the film was first taped.
Sony wishes to increase their focus on creating family type films and Jumanji is a good way to begin that endeavor.
For those viewers who were lost in a jungle somewhere during the release of the first comedy film, Jumanji is a board game that a young boy finds. He invites a neighbor girl to play the game with him for the first time and as time goes on, two adults (Robin Williams) join them. As with the majority of Williams’ films, it becomes comical.
The rumor is (as of December 6, 2012) that the new Jumanji script will be written by Zach Helm, of Stranger Than Fiction fame.
Watch for the announcement in the latter part of 2013 and keep an eye out for the release of Jumanji in theaters near you in 2014.

I did not know Jumani was getting a remake! I'm not sure how I feel about this. This movie is a classic and one of my favorite childhood movies. I hope Robin Williams and Kristen Dunst will make cameos at least.
