Born To Die definitely deserved the 3rd place, it's absolutely unique When I heard it the first time I ended up being extremely sad, but after a while I started to really enjoy it for what it is. The lyrics are incredible and the music... Just wow.
Warrior It's really a fantastic album, no matter how hard it flopped. It deserves so much more There's not a single track I don't like and the rock-inspired tracks are everything Wouldn't have expected this slayage, really fantastic I guess there are better albums, nonetheless it's one of the albums of this year that I enjoyed the most.
Btw, where did you find this version of the cover?
BTD is truely a great album... LOVE your standouts ... except for BTD (songg)
Warrior was great...it was just ok at first, but now I love it...but it wont make my list THIS year...My only thing is that they should have choose a different lead singles (Supernatural!!!!)
It really is Thanks!
I 100% agree. However, I think Crazy Kids or C'Mon would've been better lead singles.
They have that "Ke$ha" vibe and aren't generic and boring, IMO.
Supernatural would come across a little too strong, no one would know it's her!

Great list
BTD is truly a great album, she does such a good job at making it a unique body of work.
Warrior IS great, I don't care what people say I honestly LOVE this version of the
cover, much more than the original, but I'm not sure where I found it I just did

Welcome to my Best Of: Christmas Special! I decided to quick whip up some of my favorite
Christmas albums and songs in honor of the wonderful holiday! I will list my top 5
albums and top 10 songs for Christmas here, I hope you all enjoy and find some cool holiday tunes!
TOP 5 ALBUMS
#5:Christina Aguilera / My Kind of Christmas
Though released in 2000, I listened to this for the first time this year, and admittedly was impressed! Many taunt Xtina for her over-singing and what not, but I'd have to say she does the perfect amount of it in this set of beautifully sung Christmas tunes. She puts her own special brand and spin on each track, making them notably Xtina, and it works very well. Definitely worth a listen if you like her voice and earlier work!
Released: 2000 Stand-outs: Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, O Holy Night, The Christmas Song
#4:Sheryl Crow / Home for Christmas
I know Sheryl might pass the radar of many ATRLers, but she was a huge part of my childhood! This album was released a few years back, but I took a first listen this year, to find myself very pleased! It's very traditional and jazzy, a perfect thing for classy families to listen to while opening presents, putting up the Christmas tree, decorating cookies and what not. She does a good job with this release, and the track choices are also very nice! A very cohesive and well-managed Christmas set.
Released: 2008 Stand-outs: There Is A Star That Shines Tonight, White Christmas, I'll Be Home for Christmas
#3:Jewel / Joy: A Holiday Collection
Very folky and traditional, Jewel pulls off the Christmas feel very excellently. Though it may not bring experimentation into the mix, each track is very special, emotional and well-composed with her beautiful, saintly vocals. For anyone who likes anything Jewel, this set is perfect! Many great tracks are brought to the light, and you probably can't get any more Christmas-y than this album does!
Released: 1999 Stand-outs: Winter Wonderland, Hark! The Herald Angles Sing, Silent Night
#2:Cyndi Lauper / Merry Christmas... Have A Nice Life!
This album turns Christmas from serious to FUN! She wrote a few tracks herself for this set, and they're all very catchy and festive. The renditions she puts on the older tracks like Rockin' and Silent Night are also very well done and catchy. The whole album makes you want to dance, sing along and throw garland all over the house whilst celebrating the joy that is Christmas! A well-designed Christmas set.
Released: 1998 Stand-outs: Christmas Conga, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Silent Night
#1:KT Tunstall / Have Yourself A Very KT Christmas
This set of Christmas tracks has been getting played for me the last few Christmases! KT brings a very incredible variety to the table, from Hawaiian Christmas tracks to Sleigh Ride to lonely Christmas ballads. A short EP, however, that should be longer, the set is very well designed and easy for anyone to listen to and enjoy. Easily my favorite collection of tracks to listen to on the holidays, KT did her job very well here!
Released: 2007 Stand-outs: Mele Kalikimaka (Christmas In Hawaii), Sleigh Ride, Lonely This Christmas
Those were my favorite 5 Christmas releases, and now on to the singles!
PS: If you're looking for Christmas music that's good, AND you like my taste, choose these!
#10:Vanessa Carlton / Do You Hear What I Hear?
This beautiful rendition of the timeless classic is incredible! Vanessa, in my opinion, is an extremely
underrated artist with a great voice, and this song definitely only proves this continuously, making
the great song even greater. Definitely a favorite of mine for Christmas time, especially perfect for
peaceful moments She's just too perfect, ok?
#9:Christina Aguilera / Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Released in 2000, this song may be one of the best showcases of Xtina's incredible vocal abilities.
For what is probably one of the best renditions of this song, Christina really brings it and masters
this song, in a way many may see as effortless! I deeply enjoy it, myself; she did this song justice!
#8:She & Him / I'll Be Home For Christmas
I'm definitely NOT a She & Him fan, but I gave their Christmas collection a shot last year and found
a few gems, including this one! It's very beautiful and stripped down, and they do an excellent job at
keeping it traditional and still putting their own little spin on it. A very enjoyable listen!
#7:Beach Boys / Little Saint Nick
Easily one of the best Christmas songs of all time, not including this song would be a complete
injustice to my life. It's been extremely prevalent in my life since childhood, and there's a reason for that,
because it's a great song! I love to hear it on the radio, and it's a very magical Christmas anthem.
#6:Jewel / Winter Wonderland
This track is very Christmas-y, and I love it! It fits perfectly with the mold Winter Wonderland has always
had, and Jewel's own twist on it is successful in every way. Just an all-around pretty track that's great!
#5:Lady Gaga / Christmas Tree
When will ANY of your faves make this heaux-jam a successful Christmas bop? The satire and lyrical
hilarity in this song is simply genius, not to mention the beat behind it is GREAT. This timeless pop
anthem will go down in history, to be honest. Gaga's never going to escape this hilarious song, which
is GOOD because it's AMAZING! If you haven't listened, please do. Even Gaga haters can get a laugh.
#4:Cyndi Lauper / Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
The twist put on this classic Christmas song is incredible and dancy! Cyndi immediately makes
this track her own, and in every good way. It just makes you want to dance with your family while opening
presents and eating Christmas goodies. It's anything and everything you could want in a happy Christmas
song, and it's too fun! Cyndi is really great at making everything fresh and new.
#3:Vanessa Carlton / Happy XMas (War Is Over)
This John Lennon cover is done wonderfully, and honestly, is better than the original in my grand,
opulent and important opinion It's just so gracious and wonderful with Vanessa's voice on it. Not
much can be said for this song besides it is incredible!
#2:KT Tunstall / Mele Kalikimaka (Christmas In Hawaii)
This song is GREAT. KT brings the fun, the culture and the joy of a random Christmas song that
isn't known well enough, and makes it perfect! The kazoos and the xylophones put the most perfect
spin on the song ever. This song has the most plays of any Christmas song in my library, besides Gaga's Christmas Tree
#1:Karmin / Sleigh Ride
WHO would've known that a successful rap that ACTUALLY works could be added to Sleigh Ride?
Well, Karmin did it, and fairly easily. In this surprisingly classy duet, Karmin puts their special spunky
twist on Sleigh Ride and the result is incredible! I've been bumping to it since I first heard they released
a Christmas song. Plus, the song is being promoted by Coach. What kind of class? Only Karmin.
Plus, the video is amazing. And the song's free. I'm just too slayed, tbh.
I hope you all enjoyed my festive countdown! I really hope you guys can enjoy some of these songs
in the next two days, they're all very wonderful! I'll be back in a few days to start my top 200 songs
Great list of artists! So much female love, other than Bieber but I can appreciate him too <3
I agree with you on No Doubt!
Heyyy, I've heard of Rye Rye. She's a bit ridiculous for me, haha.
I think Back of Basics is still my favorite Christina album
Thanks for posting the video for Beauty and the Beat, since I had not seen it!
It's sad but I may ahve forgotten about Bjork... good to see you're enjoying her disco.
I like Licorice but overall have yet to fully check out Azealia Banks -_-
Shiii, Crystal Castles had a new album?! WHAT?! >_<
Great top two!
Man, I must have missed the Karmin criticism on the internet?
Great honorable mentions ^_^
I like how there is stuff that isn't just this year specific. That's good! I may have to consider that next year.
Aw, Marina's debut was/is my favorite. Electra Heart is good though but so sad to hear Family Jewels did not click well with you.
Let Go from Avril <3
I need to still hear Ke$ha's album
Cute christmas special concept and good selections!
