let's just say the average poster at that time was FAR more intelligent than the average poster these days. Ohh and there was a lot of variety and different people, now every ****ing poster seems like a carbon copy of someone else.
I was around before popfusion happened, and yes I did like it, and yes the quality of the site has gone down. With all that being said though, its just an online forum, and these things come in waves.
Its the summer time, people are off on vacations etc. It'll get better soon enough.
I don't remember the board the way the vets do, perhaps it was pre-my time. I remember it being similar as it is today (but I now ignore most of the unnecessary and illogical fighting over artists) but with bigger egos and better language (I'm not talking about those who are learning and practicing English as a second or further language). I am glad to say that I have felt and seen more people learning and forming intelligent opinions recently (the last year or so) rather than when I first joined. I've grown and seen other members mature as well, which is nice.
1) Read the posts above yours. I explained who they were and how they were not really hackers (well, Travis did a better job than me on that).
2) Yes, the one that charts your post count.
