English is an official language of India and she knows how to pull off an American accent:
Wow. I love indian movies TBH, Preity Zinta is my all time faourite actress, she just held a concert here in my country last week along with shah rukh khan and bipasha bashu.

I like some Indian movies, but not Bollywood/Hindi movies. Bipasha Basu is hot though.
Shouldn't you be responding to your Agnes threads too? lol
With much fanfare, and exposure most stars would kill for, Priyanka Chopra launched her music career with "In My City" this September. We talked about it here and I didn't like it much. The song was tepid and felt highly manufactured. Which was a shame because Priyanka has a pretty sensual voice.
Priyanka is on the verge of doing something cool here so its worth following her progress. There's another song called Erase doing the rounds that The Chainsmokers put together featuring Priyanka on vocals. The Chainsmokers are two NY-based DJs - Andrew Winter and Alex Pall. They program House music and their career is on a smart, upward arc. The song itself is full of aggressive, high energy EDM and Priyanka does sound way better than she did on her first single. There are no traces of Bollywood in here - which tells us that Priyanka is ballsy enough to play in a new arena on its own terms. By the way, this song is not on Priyanka's upcoming album.
Since my two sons - Motorsandal, 13 and Youngling, 11 - are avid music listeners and fine, if somewhat misguided, critics in their own right, I decided to ask them to review the song (which for the record, I enjoyed).
Youngling's review: Its fake dubstep, Daddy. But its good. I would listen to it again.
Motorsandal's review:
Its gwiddz (this is apparently a teen way of saying "good"). I would listen to it again for sure. But not now.
SONG OF THE DAY: The Chainsmokers ft Priyanka Chopra – “Erase”
Judging by their name and bio, it’s obvious that the The Chainsmokers don’t take themselves too seriously. Just some fun-loving guys, they make hard electro tracks with a pop vibe as if they were the offspring of R3hab (with the Chainsaw sound) and Jump Smokers (sharing a surname and jokey vibe). “Erase” is an aggressive, if not grating electro track, not dissimilar to R3hab’s chainsaw sound buoyed by Swedish House Mafia-esque synths in the breakdown. Seductive vocals by Bollywood superstar/Miss World Priyanka Chopra soften the track a bit, making it a tad more accessible while maintaining a properly aggressive feel. If hard electro isn’t your thing, check out the more AC-vibe rock mix by Samantha Ronson. The merging of NYC hipster models and a RedOne protege – this is definitely a track to expect some big things from.
THE CHAINSMOKERS FEAT. PRIYANKA CHOPRA: Erase (Original Mix)
The Chainsmokers, a.k.a. Alex Pall and Drew Taggart (formerly D’Anconia), have partnered with Indian sensation Priyanka Chopra on an electro house banger titled “Erase.” Relying on Chopra’s strong vocal presence, the song explodes into a high energy, take-no-prisoners drop that storms relentlessly ahead, pushing forward with heavy synth lines. Even the breakdowns and the vocals are thundering components, ensuring this track is a pleaser of scale and substance.
A DJ who just merely presses play on their ipods and then stand back and don't do any form of mixing or scratching or whatever... The Mishapes are bit guilty of the same crime too.
Priyanka Chopra's Erase Feature Priyanka Chopra is on her music career grind and her next release is a collaboration with The Chainsmokers titled "Erase."

While starring in Bollywood films and walking catwalks, Priyanka would slip in some live vocal performances proving she's an all-rounder. Her passion for music has landed her a record deal with DesiHits Universal making her one of the few South Asian acts to get mainstream attention. Her second release is a collaboration with The Chainsmokers titled "Erase" and it has us impressed and wanting more!
When Priyanka first announced her record deal, the response was quite mixed. The actress is an established brand in Bollywood, so why wasn't she given the opportunity in house first. Can she really sing? Is the mainstream U.S. market ready for her? Despite the conversations and concerns, Priyanka landed her deal and was set to make her way as a pop star.
She debuted this summer with "In My City." The song was produced by RedOne, a man responsible for so many hits including "Poker Face" and "On The Floor," and featured ex-Black Eyed Pea will.i.am. The song made its national debut on NFL's network's Thursday Nigh Football. Apart from its placement, Priyanka's single hasn't infiltrated any other mediums.
The singer now shifts our attention from that release to "Erase." The Chainsmokers is a duo-production team based in New York City. While unknown to the masses, these producers have shared venues with some of the greatest artists and will only continue to grow their brand.
"Erase's" cover is a rich red and includes a shot of Priyanka. The two-tone cover is a dose of mysteriousness and sexiness catching our attention. The upbeat production is tight and carries the single. Priyanka sounds good too. She has been working on her vocals and with some studio magic; this whole project comes together great.
Priyanka Chopra has our attention as her music career continues to escalate, are you seeing improvement or still unimpressed?
They're referring to her breaking out into song on multiple occasions, like during live shows and in interviews, and sometimes within some acting scenes she's in, etc. There are a lot of videos online, like:
And I'm sure there are some Miss World videos too.
LOL @ breaking out into the song. After In My City came out, a reporter asked her to sing a few lines during an interview and she refused... multiple times. Both of those videos you posted were planned in advance and the Genie in a Bottle performance at the Temptations 2004 concert is clearly lip synched. The audio is heavily auto-tuned.
Why would she sing at Miss World? It's a beauty pageant.
