Discussion: More expensive video: E.T. or Judas?

Judas would have been more expensive when you take everything into account.
Bigger sets, more costumes, a complete Universal lot, water effects, equipment, more people were in the video that were payed than E.T, various other reasons.

People severly overestimate the cost of music videos. Most music videos are made for under $500,000 and use old sets from movies and TV to cut down on costs.
With that said, Judas. I can't at the Katy fans thinking that floating in front of a green screen costs a lot of money. The only CGI in ET is at the beginning when Katy is an alien and it's horrible CGI.
The ET video was all shot in one room in front of a green screen. The Judas video was shot in several locations, including a California highway and a Paramount lot, which alone probably cost more than Katy's video.
The Judas video had over one hundred extras, the ET video had Katy, the model, and Kanye.
All of the Judas effects had to be done by hand, all of the ET effects were done on a computer.

I'm not sure, but E.T apparently uses its budget more efficiently. Judas is a mess.

but back to the question, I think Judas; she flooded a set, had dancers, extras, set designers, stylists while E.T. would be expensive, it would of been green screen, but I guess we won't know without the official figures

Not everything in the E.T. video was CGI'd. The costumes and that weird head piece were all made by hand, and Katy said herself she was in the make-up room for like 6 hours to get every look done, I assume that wasn't just an ordinary make-up team either.

omg at the amount of stupidity in this post. 
CGI cost > natural shot cost.
Green screen film location cost > natural filming location cost

Whole E.T. video is CGI-ed from the post apocalyptic earth to Kanye's spaceship. E.T. video graphic are so complex it took over 50 people to do video post production from top animation companies, such is Pixar.
