What happened to them? they were a huge award show!!!

I remember them in the 1990s, big successful shows. The last time I remember seeing any were 2006 and 2007, Rihanna performed at both.

I'm not gonna lie, I used to like the World Music Awards better than most other music award shows. When they were made in Monte Carlo they always looked like so much fun: most of the people in the audience were rich European socialites who had been given a lot of alcohol... they would have a GOOD time there dancing for the cameras (sometimes inappropriately ). So refreshing compared to the stuffy audiences of the AMAs, Billboard Awards, etc., from back then.

But the show lately had become a MESS, so no big loss..
