You know what?
As a fellow Chris fan, I am sick of you steady coming for other artists who are ON THEIR GRIND while your fave (and one of mine as well) sits around following Rihanna and smoking blunts on Instagram letting their latest album flop to the pits of hell.
The Source covers URBAN MEDIA, whether it be hip hop, R&B, movies, TV, whatever. Nicki Minaj is in NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM the only black woman making big moves right now in the industry. Kerry Washington became the star of one of broadcast television's hottest new shows, with Meagan Good following in her footsteps gearing up for next year. Janelle Monae made big moves this year and featured on one of the biggest singles with FUN.. Brandy and Monica and Keyshia held it down for R&B, getting hits and selling solid - this doesn't even include all the black/urban females BEHIND the scenes making moves in the industry. For crying out loud, they already have Beyonce plastered all over the place with her Pepsi news to lead into next year.
And even if it WAS solely dedicated to hip hop, there are PLENTY of women doing things. Trina, Eve, Missy, even bitches on the underground circuit trying to come up... all them ain't dead and most released something this year and was getting paper. Whether or not Nicki is the one getting attention in MAINSTREAM is irrelevant. I am sure THE SOURCE, which is one of the most respected and long-lasting publications IN HIP HOP, would know what the **** is going on and make an informed decision.
Do not discredit THEM and do not discredit NICKI.
Sick of this ****ing blind hatred and shade. If she got it, she ****ing deserved it. **** a default.
