Time almost always put the President as Time's Person of the Year during the year they are elected, so expect the 2016 Person of the Year to be the newly elected President. If they are incapable of putting the President that year, they would do it the following year.
2012 - Obama
2008 - Obama
2004 - Bush
2000 - Bush
1992 - Clinton
1980 - Reagan
1976 - Carter
1972 - Nixon
1964 - Johnson
1948 - Truman
1932 - Roosevelt
Presidents who received Person of the Year during a non election year
1934 - Roosevelt
1941 - Roosevelt
1944 - Eisenhower
1945 - Truman
1959 - Eisenhower
1961 - Kennedy
1967 - Johnson
1971 - Nixon
1983 - Reagan
1990 - Bush Sr.
1998 - Clinton
Congrats to Obama.
