However the thing that really confuses me is the kinda sort've change in theme for the album.

Remember when we thought it was about the decay of the blonde icon and all, and the kingdom of fame and all that:

Now it has progressed to fun and maybe weed, etc. Maybe it could be both and the decay thing ties in or maybe that was scrapped.

With the 'decay thing' and her hinting she played the album for the label/it was done, maybe the decay thing was the original album and it was scrapped for this new fun, etc direction?
