So for Rihanna, I would say Rita Ora. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing and it's obvious that being so new to the scene, Rita is under a lot of marketing influence from her label. It will be a few years until Rita comes into her own and starts creating her own image.
Also, even though I'm a little late, Nicki has said she takes direct influence from Madonna. So it makes sense the monsters have assumed Nicki is imitating their fave instead.
